Distinctive residential districts in the Eastern Bloc – young people, watching growing expansion of the West through the key hole, are trying to create their own fashion identity while still wandering in the dark. In the nostalgic atmosphere caused by the difficult times for growing up, they try to combine the modernism of the ending age with slowly appearing impacts of pop culture breaking through the iron curtain. The barrier between two sides of Europe was still solid and strong, but at the same time it caused an evolution of the unique urban Eastern Bloc’s style, that today seems to be stronger than ever – becoming one of the hottest trends on the runways of the Paris Fashion Week for the past few seasons.
